Sati or suttee is the ritualistic murder by fire or immolation of women whose husbands have died. It is done because some of Krisnas wives threw themselves on his cremation fire.

Sati has nothing to do with Krisna. He had died, it was his wives decisions to kill themselves. It was a selfish action on their part. It did not take into account the children they left behind.
